Greetings from Finland and pardon my English. I am sure smart germans understand.

We have at least 6 known cases of this battery death in Finland. Most of them are Seat Mii Electrics, some are not. The typical issue is with the J497 controller inside the battery and several cars have been successfully fixed by replacing just that, or J497 plus the related wiring harness. Some cars are not as lucky, and replacing the J497 doesn't help. My case is like that, I've been without my car now for over 6 months. Lately those lucky ones who have just the typical J497 issue, have been fixed in 2-3 weeks which is not horribly bad if not great either. My car is receiving new battery modules any day now, but having waited half a year for the repair I can't say I'd be overly optimistic.

There is an international Mii/Citigo/eUp FB group also, where there are some fellow sufferers from around Europe. The problem seems quite widespread, if not overly common, and seems to plague all three brands with most cases of failed cars having been registered around March, April or May. At least I haven't heard of any recently delivered cars failing. Yet.

thanks for your feedback, so in this case I hope, they have fixed now this issue, I have anyway to wait till February to be able to pick up my e-Up.
But 6 months is really sad...Have you got at least a compensation for this?

We'll see about compensation when the car is fixed. If it never is, then it is a matter of how big a refund it ends up being. I don't really want to speculate too much on that. I managed to drive the car less than 200km in total so it was a genuine lemon.

For now I just wanted to share information about how the cases have been fixed. Usually it is the j497 but there has been a case of battery internal wiring harness issue also, and my car is showing battery module failures also. I suspect that the failing j497 could sometimes fry the battery module electronics (temperature and voltage measurement) somehow.

Hi finnmii.
All the variants e-up, citygo and mii are poduced on the same production line in VW Bratislava (Slovak republic), therefore, the model does not play a role.

So, jetzt isser wieder da. Nach knapp 4 Wochen. Im Vergleich zu einigen anderen Laufzeiten kann ich damit wohl ganz zufrieden sein.
