Danke Norbert
there are 2 ways of bricking of your headunit.
1. If you have installed alot of apps on it AND you decided to do a FW update, it will brick. the head unit needs at least 900 mb free ram/space. ( Happend to me ) and fixing it is " semi- Easy " you can use a usb keyboard plugged on to the from usb portal and trigger a linux command key combo.
2. IF you through the engineering menu, go to "update " menu, and press update fw. or IF through the engineering menu press the " test CSS button " or something like that, it will die.
This 2.nd method is the worse method. If you want to fix from this method, you have to open up the head unit, take it out. and solder some stuff on it, and follow a russian guide. I know there is a german guy on this forum who can do that,
so, in conslusion if you want to AVOID bricking your head unit, do not update, and also make sure to tell the hyundai service, not to update the head unit when the car is at the service.
and also do not press any buttons in the engineering menu,.
IF you want to update your headunit to the latest fw, you have to completly uninstall all app through the service menu - > app installation.
DElete data, then delete cache, then delete app.
After all app is deleted, you can Factory reset the android part also in the service menu. Once this is done you can also factory the head unit it self through the settings menu in the head unit.
