// 0.43 29 Nov 2015 (Geir Øyvind Vælidalo)
// - Fixed trip in AVG sms + added discharge and recuperation for last trip.
// - Changed AVG-sms to TRIP-sms
// - Added ambient temperature

Thanks!
This all sounds very good to me.
Will check soon.

I did a couple of quick tests yesterday of the TRIP-sms and the recuperation. The first test was ruined because I probably did start driving too soon after programming the OVMS-firmware, and I think that not all values where properly fetched from the car. That meant that we didn't have a correct baseline.
The second test went well, but the recuperation exceeded the battery discharge, so the the amount of km/kWh was kinda high as we almost had a divide by zero. I was driving down one of the longest hills in the area

Also there seem to be some issues with the trip being reset when stopping, so sometimes it works, and sometime it won't. I need to find out why.

JejuSoul hat geschrieben: Here is a plot of ten cars we have data for showing their battery deterioration against number of battery cycles (Calculated by dividing the cumulative discharge by 27) Tom's car is by far the outlier. I am not proposing that this represents a method to calculate when we reach warranty. Just that currently most cars are showing a similar pattern. But not Tom's. Why?
That is a good question I don't know the answer to. The only thing I know is that I hope these values are at least 10 times too high

If we consider that Kia said they expect the battery to be 70% after 15 years, that would only be a 2% capacity loss per year.
I'll probably be driving 23000km this first year, with mostly charging with type 1 at 16A/3.6kW. The climate here is cool most of the year, which should be perfect for the battery. I usually charge to 100% every day. I use the car every day and I drive 30-40km per day.
It seems unlikely my battery could have lost 10% capacity already. A tenth of that could however fit both Kia's prediction and my expectations/hopes

Maybe Tom could say a little about his charging and driving habbits?

My car is from April this year and I have arround 5000 on it.
Usually I charge my battery to 80% at home and only if I need it for long distance I charge it to 100% (arround once every two weeks).
I charge a lot at 20kW chademo stations to 84% (and between 8 and 15kWh each charge), sometime it is a 50kW charger (maybe once every two week)
I drive in eco mode and at highways my speedometer says 94kmh.
I never park my car over night without charging below a SoC of 30%.
I charged my car twice since July from 19% to 100% with my ICCB (my car was storaged during september and october with fuse switch in off position and lost 1% SoC during this time)
By the way....my det values did not change so far in the last 1000km (they never did since I have the OVMS).

.....also nothing special at all

There is nothing that should indicate that Tom's battery should loose 10% capacity this fast. I don't trust the values are correct, but lets keep an eye on them and we'll see how it goes and after a while we can get some proper statistics.

Kia almost certainly means that the usable capacity of the battery at 15 years will be 70% of the initial usable capacity.
That interpretation allows for greater deterioration each year - 2.5% per year.( Total capacity shrinks from 30.5 to 18.9)

The graph I posted earlier showing battery deterioration may not be an accurate way to compare different car's deterioration.
I did not realise that recuperation energy was included in the cumulative energy counters. Thanks Goev for pointing this out.
Each car may have a different proportion of recuperated energy in one battery cycle depending on a host of driving factors that I didn't include. This may or may not be important. I too don't trust the values are correct, but lets keep an eye on them and we'll see how it goes and after a while we can get some proper statistics.

Just a "funfact":
Driving home from work today, I drove 12.5km using 2.4kWh off the battery and recuperated 0.5kWh.
My wife just drove 20.7km using 4.9kWh off the battery and recuperated 0.7kWh.
For these two trips, we got 20% and 14% of the energy from recuperation. This is the first time I've ever seen some real figures

True. But still only a quarter of the value me and Tom have

First of all, I checked another KIA Soul EV (Joe's car, thx Joe) today.
The deterioration was:
Det5.8%#4 3.9%#49
He has arround 14500km on it and his car is only some counts close to my VIN.
