Cumulative sales of electric passenger vehicles after the first four months of 2013 is 3,188 (versus 1,595 in the same time frame in 2012.). Total sales for light commercial-duty electric vehicles was 1,780 units, as of the end of April (versus 856 in 2012.). Therefore, we can basically say that, in the first four months of 2013, sales doubled year over year.
The Renault Zoe remains the leader, with April sales coming in at 748 units, or approximately 79.6% of the electric passenger vehicle segment. The Nissan LEAF again took second place with 94 units sold (10% of total). Other notable results include the Bolloré BlueCar (54 units) and the Smart Fortwo Electric Drive (33 units).
Other vehicles don’t really figure in anymore. Mia sold only 11 units of its funky electric van and is struggling for survival. Combined sales of the Citroën C-Zero and Peugeot iOn reached just 3 units in April and not even one single copy of the Renault Fluence Z.E. was sold in France last month. Let’s repeat that, not even one single copy of the Renault Fluence Z.E. was sold in France last month. Ouch!
