Neue Insider Infos zum SuC V3
Redditor NetBrown, citing a source that’s familiar with the Supercharger 3.0 project, indicates that the charger will have a built-in coolant system at the base of the unit that pumps fluid through a thinner charging cable. The chargers can support up to 250 kW of max power but will at first be limited to 200 kW. Model 3 vehicles and their 2170 form factor battery cells will be able to leverage the higher charging rate. However, it’s still to be determined what rate of charge Model S and Model X vehicles can support. This will vary by the generation of vehicle.
Other rumored details being shared about Supercharger V3.0 include:

No need to split power between multiple vehicles charging

Photovoltaic and Powerpack integration

Retrofittable to current generation Superchargers

96% power conversion efficiency vs. 92% on Supercharger V2

2.5X heavier than the current generation Supercharger

https://www.reddit.com/r/teslamotors/co ... ?context=1
• The liquid cooled cables will actually be much thinner than the current SC cables, the coolant pump is located in the base of the white SC stall where the current cable connects and is hung up (v3 can retrofit into existing v2 chargers), and while the cabinets can support 250kW max (so I suppose it would be possible to upgrade to 250kW in the future), the individual chargers will be max 200kW.
• PV and Power Pack integration is a part of the design spec, but no required.
• 40% better throughput performance compared to v2 per site
•Thermal Foldback improvements over v2
• v3 cabinets get 5 power stages at 70kW output per power stage for 350kW AC -> DC per v3 cabinet
• v3 cabinet also houses 2x DC-DC modules per post yielding 100kWx2 for the 200kW deliverer per post
• Any extra power (assuming the extra 50kW the cabinets can produce versus what the chargers are delivering if the cabinet is maxed, or if only partially maxed, any extra power) can be shared across cabinets. Since multiple cabinets will be at each site, this lessens if not removes the v2 "shared" power with linked chargers
• Site master controller is 4G LTE for communication of all diagnostics (as well as the verify car and billing of power consumed) so better knowledge when a site has a problem - leading to more proactive fixing of sites with broken/mafunctioning chargers
•The cost reduction will come from higher power conversion efficiency (96% for v3 versus 92% for v2), less harmonics, and no overvoltage sensitivity (though the cabinets are larger and heavier than v2), ultimately leading to an approximate 20% more customers served per dollar spent on power
• Overall AC input is 438kVA, 526A
• Can link up to 7 v3 cabinets per bus (or a block), which can also link to one Power Pack
• Cabinets are on a shared DC radial configured bus of 880-1000
This is then pushed out to the chargers (posts) and DC 180-500v, 250kW max
seit 01/2017 Nissan Leaf Tekna 30 kWh mit 6,6 kW AC Lader
seit 03/2019 Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD

Also +250km in 15 min.
Mal schaun...
In Fremont today, Tesla is launching the next generation Supercharger V3 with higher charging capacity (250 kW), better efficiency, and more.

Some of the most important points:

250 kW peak power without powershare between stations
Just for Model 3 vehicles after software update for now
Model S and Model X to follow later – again through software
First non-beta stations coming in Q2

Tesla announced that new Supercharger is able to deliver a new 250 kW of peak power thanks to an “all-new liquid cooled cable design.”

According to the company, the cable is “significantly lighter, more flexible, and more efficient” than their current air-cooled cable found on the V2 Superchargers
[....]
The new 250 kW peak at the station is also enabled by a new 1 MW power cabinet.

Instead of using onboard chargers staked together, the new Supercharger is built using technology Tesla developed for its massive grid energy storage system.

With the new technology, there will be no power share between stalls like in the current version.

On Tesla’s most efficient vehicles, like the Long Range Model 3, the company says that the new Supercharger V3 can add up to 75 miles of range in 5 minutes and charge at a peak rage of 1,000 miles per hour of range.
[...]
In order to achieve this new top charge rate, Tesla is not only improving its charging hardware.

A new ‘On-Route Battery Warmup’ software feature was also announced. When entering a Supercharger station in your navigation system, the vehicle’s software will “intelligently heat the battery to ensure you arrive at the optimal temperature to charge.”

The new feature alone should reduce “average charge times for owners by 25%,” according to the automaker.

Tesla says that the new peak charging rate is only for Model 3 (all produced to date) after a software update that will gradually ramp up as they deploy more new V3 Supercharger stations in the next quarter.

The company did note that they will “increase Model S and X charging speeds via software updates in the coming months”, but they didn’t specify to what capacity.

That said, they did say that they going to update current V2 infrastructure to a new peak charge rate of 145kW for single-vehicle charging (when not sharing the next Supercharger stall).
