Hi,

I have been thinking winter times with our Fluence. Here in northern Finland we get very low temps during winter. Can -34 celsius temperature break fluence battery pack? Is is safe to drive Fluence when battery is this cold(Does it even "GO" if battery is this cold)? Should I arrange battery heating system that activates if ambient temp goes below -10 celsius?

Hello, I read in an article that cell temperatures below -25°C can be critical because the electrolyte can freeze and destroy the inner cell structures, so it should be ensured however that cell temperature does not fall below -25°C.

Norwegian Leafs seem to have cell heating elements. I would say -30°C is too low for proper operation.

Hi,

I found this interesting Fluence battery spec sheet. It confirms what you two said before.
