There will be 64kWh and 39.2kWh versions. It says the battery will be just like the N iro EV.
Hence we have to assume that the new Soul EV will also use SK Innovation's new NCM811 cells

And the surprise. The new Soul EV will be released only in Europe. Not even to South Korea. wow!

Also in Europe sales of the gasoline Soul will be phased out. - Kia to offer Soul in Europe as electric car only

Well, I always thought Kona, Niro and Soul III will share the same platform, as it as also stated in your second link. Battery and motor specs support this assumption.

If the Soul III is for Europe only, I think we can safely assume it will get CCS and Type 2, but I won't go that far to expect a 3 phase charger.

Well, I always thought Kona, Niro and Soul III will share the same platform, as it as also stated in your second link. Battery and motor specs support this assumption.

I think that article is confusing drive-train with platform, the drive-train is the same for all of them, not the platform.
Kona and Niro are definitely not using the same platform.

Missinterpretation?

I think Kia will sell/offer the Soul EV II/III all over the world, but in Europe it will be only the EV version in the future.

I am looking forward to the bigger battery pack of 39 or 64kWh. If the Soul III will have autonomous driving level 2, I will take the bigger battery and keep the Soul III a long time.
Still about 1.5 years to go until it will arrive in Europe...a very long time ....

Der Stonic ersetzt den Soul und daher wird der Soul III nicht in Europa angeboten. Dem Stonic als EV räume ich persönlich mehr Chancen als dem Soul ein. Der Stonic ist einfach für Europa entwickelt wurden.

Da der Stonic aber ebenso auf der reinen Verbrennerplattform vom Rio aufsetzt, wird es ihn nicht als EV geben.
