Please forgive me for posting in English. I would make a fool of myself posting in German really.

I am considering reverse engineering some of the functions that are available through the i907. For this (slow and tedious) process, I am either considering a true ELM 327 chip http://www.elmelectronics.com/obdic.html (most of the CN plugs are bootlegs of their 1.0 firmware, which is horribly outdated and will not run on the Zoë at all), or using a CAN library that was developed for the Arduino Due last year. http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=131096.0

I would be very interested in the following items:
1) are there other people who have tried, or are trying to hack into the Zoë's CAN bus? If so, what have you already learned?
2) has anyone tried a true ELM327 or Arduino Due with CAN tranceiver (or maybe another controller) succesfully on the Zoë?
3) are people interested in working on a project like this? *)

ps: my personal drive for this project is that I want to know, in real time, what the SOC is of the battery while it is charging at my house. I need this information for energy managment in combiation with the PV system and would probably connect with the house network through WiFi. However, I do understand that many more usages can be envisioned once there is a programmable query tool available.

*) I am the first to admit my time is limited and I cannot fully commit to a project like this. As I have not heard of a working solution yet on a programmabale device or a PC, it requires some hardware building **), substantial software development, and tedious hacking through the message hex data. On the other hand, as soon as sending and receiving CAN data is working, work can be distributed a bit more, especially to people who own a i907 (or a true working CLIP system ) and are willing to hack around.

**) maybe the hardware interface between the Due and the CAN bus can be bought, i.e. as these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281524910459 (tranceiver only) or http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221529570072 (controller and tranceiver, so a Due would not be needed, but then again, I am not aware of any existing arduino CAN library for this controller)

Today, I did my second measurements on the Zoë's OBD2 bus (the first one being the unsuccessful ELM327 plug experiment).

Long story short, there are definately two CAN busses on the Zoë. One on the pin 6/14 pair (which is considered standard), and one on the pin 12/13 pair (which are basically manufacturer's discretion pins). Both have a 60 ohm impedance when the car is powered down (wait 3 minutes after all off and doors locked), which is a very clear hint of CAN. The busses are not connected.

Another hint is this page: http://pinoutsguide.com/CarElectronics/ ... nout.shtml which I found after my measurements They seem to suggest a secondary CAN bus indeed on pins 12/13, mainly for multimedia but

Pins 12, 13 used for low speed CAN bus, also called as multimedia CAN bus, in some new cars, as Megane 3, Fluence and other... this bus also important for diagnostic.

There is a lot of confusing info on that page suggesting the speed of the multimedia bus is faster, then slower depending on where you look. Also note that the page is specific for Renault, but not for the Zoë.

Anyway, I think the next step is to hook up a oscilloscope to both busses to see the data rate and what is happening. Also, if I can find my ELM327 <> bluetooth plug , I will try to rewire it to pin 12/13, see what happens. I will keep you posted.

hab mir auch das i907 gekauft und schon ein bisschen was ausgelesen.

Die Grafik sieht interessant aus, allerdings hätte ich die Daten glaub ich lieber als Tabelle. Meine gesammelten Werke liegen unter https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/350 ... ePower.xls.

Im moment verarbeite ich die Daten bisher erhalten. Ich versuche ein 2D-Grafik zu machen der man einfacher lesen kann statt der 3D-Grafik.
In der Zwischenzeit las bitte die Daten kommen!
Vor allem, wenn jemand Daten hat um eine Batterietemperatur von <= 5°C oder >= 17°C.
