Hacking into Zoe's CANbus

We're working hard to give you more dials and graphs, save graph data between screen switches and reading and clearing DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes). The DTCs require quite some work and it is the first part of CanZE doing writing to the ECUs (Engine Contol Units, on-board computers). However, some DTCs disable charging completely until they are cleared, and the BCB DTCs cannot be cleared using the i907 (it doesn't show the BCB at all), so we think it is needed. Yesterday, a new version was posted on http://canze.fisch.lu and things are improving fast.

We would be very interested in known DTC codes to add into CanZE. Especially i907 owners could be gold here. I would appreciate if you could just pen down any DTC code you find in your car with it's description and the ECU (module) where it was shown and PM it to me. Something like

DTC066C73, BCB, Replace filter in front of charger, This error will prevent the car from charging!!

German no problem of course! (It is just too hard for me to write without two errors in every sentence

45 minutes of complete nerdyness, all about the CANZE running in a ZOE OK, it is very, very nerdy, so be prepared. But don't be scared off by this episode. Take a look in his other episodes too. They are absolutely worthwhile to view. For me the best channel on real life experiences with the ZOE.

Its working, tried it today.
But crashed on HTC One Mini when opening Battery from Main Screen.
Other sections are working. Thanks for the nice tool.

e-tron-73: No. iOS does not allow BT access. There is no way to do it, and the Wifi-ELM's will cost as much as a Bluetooth one PLUS an el-cheapo Android tablet. Add to that we do not have any iOS programming knowledge in the team at the moment and that porting code is non trivial, read: start over from nothing. I don't see it happening.
