OVMS für den Soul

It would be good to have someone who can modify the App to our KIA Soul,
so we do not have to put in all commands and also get the Twizzy and/or Tesla specific parameters out of it.
I already asked in this thread for Dexter's help, but with no response from him.

I would also like to make the APPs less Tesla-specific, but I am currently only into the iOS-version. Also that is low priority for me, at the moment.

my hardware arrived today. I'll start the preparations now. Unfortunatly winter is very strong here in the moment and I'll have to look for a warmer place where I could make photos a.s.o. for the Kia documentation.

I asked some project members, if they could handout the docx od odt version. So I could start on that base. But give me some time..... it's some work.

I'll keep you informed...

again me.... a bit offtopic: as programmer I ordered Kit 3.5 instead of Kit 2. Does anybody know if this will work anyway? Should I use Pickit 3 to program the controller? I didn't find according informations at Fasttech (most is in chinese.... )

danke für den Tip, hat funktioniert. Modul ist programmiert, SIM freigeschaltet und eingebaut. Jetzt geht's ans einrichten und wenn alles fkt. an die Doku. Brauch nur noch eine geheizte Garage.... hier hat's -9 Grad im Moment, da wird es sonst etwas frisch an den Fingern.

In the Soul Spy topic a spreadsheet is given, showing different values you can get from OBDII.

But there are 2 different values:

State of Charge of Battery(BMS)
SOC Display


There are not the same on my Kia Soul EV (and also not by others).

A measurement a few days ago, without fully charged showed (2% difference):

State of Charge of Battery(BMS) 55 %
SOC Display 57 %


Today, when charged for 100% there was a difference of 5%:

State of Charge of Battery(BMS) 95 %
SOC Display 100 %


And when driving home, the difference between those were becoming smaller.

My theory is that you can compute the State of Health (SOH) with those 2 values.
The BMS SOC is related to the full capacity of the battery (30.5 kWh).
The Display SOC is related to the capacity for driving (27 kWh).

So it means that I have already lost 5% of the total capacity. But probably the SOH is meant regarding the driving capacity.

Genug des Kabelhaufens.
Tür-Gummi links rausziehen, dann die Abdeckung links weg.
Sonnenblende weg und schon sollte es gehen.
Bei mir ist auf jeden fall kein Kabel auf dem Weg zum Spiegel zu sehen.
Reicht immer noch locker bis zur Mittelkonsole wo erst mal das Modul noch liegen bleibt.

PS: Die A-Säulenverkleidung muss dazu nicht entfernt werden!

Was meinst Du mit "Abdeckung links"? Der von Dir gewählte Platz scheint mir gut geeignet. Oder soll ich das Armaturenbrett nehmen? Ich bin am überlegen, was ich in die Doku nehmen soll und was sich leicht umsetzen lässt

Die Abdeckung welche sich auf der Seite von den Sicherungen befindet (da kommst Du ja nur bei wenn die Tür offen ist).
Also bei OBD Port quasi 5cm nach links um die Ecke.
Weiss auch nicht wie ich das beschreiben soll, sonst kann ich auch ein Foto machen
